Origis Energy acquires two Savion solar projects in Florida

Origis Energy acquired two late-stage development Savion utility-scale solar projects this week located in Florida — both 74.9 MWac in size. Origis is actively acquiring development stage solar and energy storage projects across the U.S.

“We have a robust portfolio of operating and in development solar projects in Florida. These projects will help us meet growing customer demand for zero carbon generation in the Sunshine State,” said Samir Verstyn, Chief Investment Officer & Chief Operations Officer, Origis Energy.

Once built, the two projects are slated to produce a combined capacity of 149.8 MWac. Construction at the sites is estimated to start Q4 2024 and Q1 2025, with anticipated Commercial Operation dates of Q4 2025 and Q1 2026.

“It has been our pleasure to work with Origis Energy on the acquisition of Savion-developed Twin Rivers Solar Project and Echo River Solar Project,” said Nick Lincon, president of Savion. “The success of this agreement would not be possible without the hard work and commitment between our two organizations, as well as the support from the local community. This is an exciting time for solar energy, and we look forward to more opportunities to contribute to renewable energy’s bright future in Florida.”
