Linea acquires 490 MWdc utility-scale solar project from Horus Energy

Linea Energy has acquired a 490 MWdc utility-scale solar project in Texas from London-based Horus Energy. The acquisition marks Linea’s entry into the Texas market and advances its strategic plan to establish a robust development pipeline while promoting renewable energy and economic growth in the Houston area.

The project is expected to generate 900 GWh per year, enough clean energy to power more than 63,000 homes and provide numerous local job opportunities during its construction and operation. Linea is also exploring the possibility of using domestic equipment in the project, showcasing its interest in supporting local industries and economies.

“Despite recent legislative challenges to the renewable energy sector in Texas, we expect Texas to remain a vanguard of smart renewable policy that brings costs to consumers down, drives investment in the state and ensures the lights stay on,” said Cassidy DeLine, CEO of Linea Energy. “This acquisition is an important milestone for our company, as it significantly contributes to our goal of a robust development pipeline while also creating local jobs and fostering economic growth in the region.”

Linea Energy is a newly-formed independent power producer that is is backed by EnCap Investments LP.

“This collaboration highlights our strong capabilities as an excellent solar developer, committed to delivering high quality projects that drive positive environmental and economic impact,” said Stefano Romanin, CEO of Horus Energy. “We are proud of the Duffy project and the clean energy it will bring to the Houston area, showcasing our dedication to building a sustainable future. We look forward to leveraging our experience and working closely with Linea Energy to make this solar project a resounding success.”

Horus Energy has developed more than 4 GW of renewable energy projects across multiple countries. With a strong focus on the U.S. market, specifically ERCOT, MISO and WECC, the company currently has more than 4.5 GW of solar PV and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects under development.

GOODBYE OLD WAYS

It’s okay to break tradition. Today’s electricity needs are more sophisticated than ever, making traditional power a thing of the past. Switching to solar helps you get with the times while saving the planet.

GREEN CONSCIOUSs

Traditional power has adverse environmental effects from the coal and natural gases combusted during production. Solar offers all of the power with no extra cost and no harmful polutions..

POWERED BY THE SUN

Rather than digging up fossil fuels, solar energy is clean power from the sun - a renewable fuel source that won't go out in our lifetime. Every kW lowers your carbon footprint by over 3K pounds annually.
