Adapture Renewables selects Alberici as EPC for Illinois solar projects

Adapture Renewables (ARI) is starting work on two 128-MWdc projects in central Illinois. The projects are scheduled to break ground later this year with commercial operation expected in early 2026, and ARI says the projects will create more than 300 jobs during construction and bring more than $250 million in economic impact to the local communities.

Adapture selected Alberici as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor. Founded in 1918 in St. Louis, Alberici is a construction company serving the civil, energy, institutional, commercial, heavy industrial, manufacturing, water/wastewater, and automotive industries. Alberici is ranked the 39th largest domestic builder (Engineering News-Record, May 2023) with annual revenues of over $4 billion.

“Alberici has a long history in renewables and will be partnering with utilities, industries and developers to deliver clean and reliable energy for decades to come,” said Peter Kozicz, CEO of Alberici Corporation. “We are proud to partner with ARI to enhance Illinois’ renewable clean energy infrastructure and create hundreds of new construction jobs in the area.”

Although the projects would include enough capacity to power more than 34,250 homes, the electricity generated by the projects will be procured by a leading social technology company through an Environmental Attributes Purchase Agreement.

Coordination of the projects will be managed and executed by Alberici in conjunction with resources from its enterprise affiliate Flintco Renewable Energy.

Adapture Renewables develops, acquires, owns and operates utility-scale solar energy assets and battery energy storage systems to meet today’s energy challenge. Incorporated in 2011 and formerly known as Enerparc Inc., Adapture Renewables is majority owned by KIRKBI Invest A/S, which is wholly-owned by KIRKBI A/S, the private holding and investment company of the Kirk Kristiansen family founded to build a sustainable future for the LEGO brand through generations.

GREEN CONSCIOUSs

Traditional power has adverse environmental effects from the coal and natural gases combusted during production. Solar offers all of the power with no extra cost and no harmful polutions..

POWERED BY THE SUN

Rather than digging up fossil fuels, solar energy is clean power from the sun - a renewable fuel source that won't go out in our lifetime. Every kW lowers your carbon footprint by over 3K pounds annually.
