Construction has begun on a new solar array at Puratos USA’s corporate headquarters, located in Pennsauken, N.J. The U.S. headquarters will house a 450kW solar array, offsetting approximately 70% of its energy needs, and is expected to be fully operational this month.
Puratos, a renowned bakery, patisserie and chocolate ingredients and services company, has committed to 100 percent renewable energy by 2023 and found common values with Infiniti Energy, a full-service solar power developer and independent power producer, that is thrilled to help them move toward this goal in the US.
“Meeting our energy goals with renewable energy while also locking in favorable energy rates is a win-win for our headquarters here in the US. We have been happy to find a partner in Infiniti Energy that aligns with our purpose and supports our commitments to the next generation,” said Andy Brimacombe, President of Puratos USA.
Infiniti Energy is providing engineering, procurement, and construction services and will serve as the long-term owner and operator of the solar array, working with Upper Bay Infrastructure Partners as their financing partner.
With ovens, cooking stations, experience rooms and an innovation center at the site, energy use can be higher than typical headquarters. By choosing to offset much of their energy use with solar through Infiniti Energy, Puratos is removing the equivalent C02 emissions of 224 tons of coal per year.
“Every solar project Infiniti Energy works on has its own challenges and opportunities. We approach each one with a long-term, client-first focus, giving us the room to do what is best for each client. Working with Puratos USA to meet their corporate ESG goals is why we got into solar – helping the environment while helping clients,” stated Michael Kushner, CEO of Infiniti Energy.
