Nevados overhauls latest All Terrain Tracker in time for RE+

Nevados, a developer of solar trackers capable of adapting to uneven sites, is taking orders for its new TRACE solar tracking solution. TRACE is the next generation of Nevados’ All Terrain Tracker — designed to work on steep and undulating terrain of up to 37% slopes, capable of preserving native topsoil.

Through TRACE, Nevados has updated the system’s mechanical operations, integrating software and controls to include features such as 75° hail stow, further reducing project risk from wind, snow and hail. It features terrain-aware backtracking to reduce shading for improved energy yields.

“With TRACE, we have taken our All Terrain Tracker, already the most capable and easiest to install on the market, and made it a more cohesive and fully-featured product,” said Yezin Taha, CEO and founder of Nevados.

Project risk mitigation features

  • Bi-directional, automatic stow, to quicken wind and hail stow.
  • 75° Hail Stow reduces the probability of maximum loss (PML) from hail.
  • Flood, rain and system protection stow protocols.

TRACE employs a backtracking rotation schedule that accounts for specific terrain profiles that can reduce the effects of backshading. This feature comes standard on every tracker. Those rotation schedules can be split between rows to increase yields, and the system can account for diffuse light.

TRACE uses Kinematics ST Drive, which doesn’t require greasing, essentially making it maintenance free

The system’s total part count was reduced by 35%, and comes with pre-kitted materials. The system can be installed with Milwaukee Tool’s Controlled Torque Impact Wrench. Nevados also provides an O&M Dashboard for system management and includes access to historical records for the system.

“As flat or gently sloping land becomes scarcer and more expensive, the solar industry needs solutions that can adapt to the world’s diverse terrains more than ever,” Taha said. “Our continued innovation redefines the possibilities for solar energy development. We’re enabling fast and efficient deployment on sites that were previously considered too complex or cost-prohibitive.”

Nevados is taking orders for the TRACE All Terrain Tracker system now for delivery in Q2 2025. It can be ordered as a fully qualified domestic content tracker for the U.S. market, helping solar developers satisfy requirements for additional tax credits created by the Inflation Reduction Act.

The TRACE system will be on display at Nevados’ RE+ booth D24705 in Hall D at the Anaheim Convention Center September 9 to 12.

GOODBYE OLD WAYS

It’s okay to break tradition. Today’s electricity needs are more sophisticated than ever, making traditional power a thing of the past. Switching to solar helps you get with the times while saving the planet.

GREEN CONSCIOUSs

Traditional power has adverse environmental effects from the coal and natural gases combusted during production. Solar offers all of the power with no extra cost and no harmful polutions..

POWERED BY THE SUN

Rather than digging up fossil fuels, solar energy is clean power from the sun - a renewable fuel source that won't go out in our lifetime. Every kW lowers your carbon footprint by over 3K pounds annually.
