Brightcore Energy and Bancroft, a regional nonprofit organization providing education, support and services to individuals with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities and brain injury, jointly announced the completion of a carport solar project.
The project, located at Bancroft’s Raymond & Joanne Welsh Campus in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, consists of over 2,800 solar panels installed on a canopy structure erected above the school’s parking lot. The 1.5-MWDC array is projected to generate 2,044 MWh of energy annually, offsetting approximately 80% of the school’s annual energy use. In addition to the solar project, Brightcore installed three dual-port EV chargers to provide staff with the ability to charge applicable vehicles while they go about their workday. The array has also been designed to provide the added benefit of providing protection from the weather.
“We are so pleased to have been a part of this project. Bancroft schools provide such an important service to young adults with special needs,” said Mike Richter, president of Brightcore Energy. “It was such a wonderful opportunity to work with the school administration and consultants to pull this together.“
