Longi has released its new module for the distributed generation market: Hi-MO 6. Using hybrid passivated back contact (HPBC) cells, Hi-MO 6 achieves 22.8% efficiency in mass production.
HPBC is Longi’s new generation of high-efficiency solar cell technology that has no front-side busbars. Longi says that modules equipped with HPBC cell technology can generate a greater volume of energy under high-temperature and low-irradiation conditions and also have superior power degradation performance. In global power generation simulations, Hi-MO 6 modules have demonstrated a significant power generation advantage over PERC products with an average power generation increase of up to 10% in typical scenarios.
The Hi-MO 6 employs back contact soldering technology, which uses the one-line soldering structure rather than the traditional Z-shaped structure to enhance the module’s resistance to cracking.
The Hi-MO 6 includes four series — Explorer, Scientist, Guardian and Artist — all of which are in Longi’s standard M10 (182mm) wafer size and are available in 72-, 66-, 60- and 54-cell types. There is also an option to have a smart optimizer pre-installed. The power classes of the four series: Explorer: 570 W; Scientist: 585 W; Guardian: unknown; Artist: unknown. The Artist series is available in a variety of color tints.
