Solar contractor Real Property & Energy Solutions completed an 842.4-kW solar project covering 54,000 sq ft of a commercial rooftop in Washington, D.C.’s Brookland neighborhood.
“The project indicates a growing interest among D.C.-area commercial property owners to lease unused rooftops and deliver clean, renewable power to their neighboring communities,” said Kyle Williams, energy sales executive at Real Property & Energy Solutions.
The array is made of 2,100 solar panels and generates electricity that provides local Pepco customers with clean, generating enough power for 150 homes annually. The property hosts 11 tenants, including Hellbender Brewing Company, Gentle Giant Moving, Dolci Gelati, Banville Wine Merchants and District Veterans Contracting.
